Our group’s mandate was to develop an interactive display that would engage and entertain the participants of the 2009 Premier Innovation Awards which will be held in the MaRS building on May 12th 2009 . This is the awards’third anniversary. Hosted by the Ministry of Research and Innovation the awards were instituted to recognize the contribution of Ontario’s research and innovation community; the prize money awarded to the winners is second only to the Nobel prize. The technology for the display has been generously donated by GesturTek, world-leader in camera-enabled gesture-recognition technology for presentation and entertainment. Using GestureTek’s proprietary software, original artwork, and ActionScript 3.0 our group has created a timeline of Ontario Innovations.
